Lego The Hobbit Preview: Building middle earth one brick at a time

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to play a demo for Lego: The Hobbit. The demo consisted of two levels of the full game, a visit to Bilbo Baggins’s home in the shire, and exploring the Goblin King’s caves. The build I played was not a final version of the game, but from what I played so far I’m very excited to play the final build!

I played Lego: The Hobbit on a Playstation 4, and it looked amazing! The graphics looked so crisp when the game started I was very happily surprised. The game follows the story line from the first two Hobbit films, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. You can play as all of the 13 Dwarves, Gandalf the Gray, and Bilbo Baggins, and whats really fun is all the characters have their own special moves and two weapon sets. The Hobbit has the familiar feel of other lego games made over the years, but it adds a little more to the experience. While you collect pieces to build in the Lego world the pieces you collect are also minerals which are needed to make specific items in the world of middle earth.

All in all, the game has great graphics while having the same fun and humor of previous Lego games while staying true to The Hobbit films and the storyline fans have come to love. Lego: The Hobbit is set to release Spring 2014 on all systems: Xbox360, PS3, Xbox one, PS4, WiiU, 3DS, PSVita, and PC.
